Introduction
The purpose of the Welsh Mountain-bike Leaders Award Scheme is to promote the safe enjoyment of all aspects of mountain biking in an off and on road environment. Wales is now recognised as the Centre for Mountain Bike Riding excellence in the UK, so it makes sense that we have the most professional Guides and Instructors: so why go off to Scotland or England when you can get qualified in the Afan Valley. Just 10 minutes off the M4, the place to ride before you die, according to What Mountain Bike magazine.
At “Afan Valley” we provide training and assessment in the technical and group management skills required by those who wish to lead groups in a variety of off & on-road environments in the United Kingdom, other than in winter conditions. The scheme also provides for on road management training. It integrates training, experience and assessment in a variety of testing conditions in off-road country.
