Over a Coffee and biscuit registration is completed. We are now ready to start the assessment proper at 09.00. This is how things pan out after a welcome from your Instructors and a brief on Health and Safety. The floor is handed over to the Senior Instructor. He will initially ask all students to introduce themselves each one taking the floor in turn, this done we pass on to the first module of the assessment.
Information on the various modules is all in your assessment manual. The syllabus can be found on the MIAS pages of this site and you may link to them on the right of this page. We break for a coffee around 10.30 then start again at 10.45. We will now run through the pre-ride checks on your bike you will also fill in a report form on the serviceability of your bike listing any faults, faults which may stop you riding it if the bike serviceability infringes our H&S policy. The moral is service it before you come or arrange to rent a bike from our fleet.
This done we are back inside looking at your bag of tricks. The things that you would be carrying when escorting a ride. You will list all the components of your kit and we will discuss why we carry particular items. click here to continue with the story
The whole assessment is interactive and informal.
