Afan Valley is a Bike oriented company providing Rider Training, Rider Experiences, Bike Hire and Cycle Sales by mail order and retail. We will comply with UK consumer law. We operate a comprehensive returns policy and are happy to refund or exchange items that are damaged in a delivery period. We will also replace items that are faulty or not exactly what was ordered. Please be especially vigilant in checking sizes carefully before placing an Order. We promise to give you excellent after sales service. Your statutory rights are not affected by our terms.
Complete bicycles are termed by the Cycle manufacturer, as a list of components that the Cycle is assembled from and not as a single item. The reason for this is that the parts of a bike are made by different companies and brought together by a manufacturer to be assembled. Therefore warranties differ. This is the reason that a fault with a particular component on your bike will be dealt with on an individual basis. We will ask you for the opportunity to fix the problem before any refund are made. We need to ascertain whether the problem is covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. It is within our interest that the problem is resolved.
The term warranty covers faults that may develop on components of the Bicycle in the first 12 months of use or over a specified warranty period. Damage caused by wear, tear, falling off and abuse are not covered by the term warranties. If you do find that something is working loose either stop riding or tighten things up. Remember with use things will work loose. So be sure that you have the Bike serviced by a reputable repairer. Suffice to say if something has worked loose and you continue to use the bike warranty will not be applicable.
Bikes leave our warehouses in their delivery box after having been fully checked by a MIAS approved mechanic we also photograph the contents of each box. Parts of the bike, the bottom bracket for instance, are assembled by the manufacturer and checked by us before they leave our warehouse. This means you must check them and tighten them as you go. This is especially true for NEW parts that go through a bedding in period.
All Bikes purchased from Afan Valley have a warranty of at least 1 year. Occasionally people try to claim warranty unfairly (that is when a product has been abused) B e fair with us and we will be fair with you and have a quick resolution of any problems. To define what a particular bicycle manufacturer defines as 'normal usage', please refer to your owners manual or the manufacturers web-site.
BEFORE returning goods call us on 01639 852654. Returning a product to us implies that you have understood our terms on returns. Returned goods must be accompanied by a completed returns form and be in the original packaging.
If there is a problem when your goods arrive you have 7 days from their receipt to return the faulty parts to us. We are not required to pay return postage. If the part is considered by the manufacturer to be at fault, the return postage will be refunded. It is your responsibility to make sure that we receive faulty goods in the same condition that they left you in. We suggest you take a digital photo of the faulty part before you send it to us. We will not accept responsibility for damage caused when you’re packing goods for return. Remember we don’t decide what is a warranty claim our suppliers do. Click for PAGE 2
